There’s a wide range of events in Ceredigion throughout the year. The calendar looks very busy, with a number of sporting events, music, literature and performance festivals.
There’s a constant programme of arts and cinema events at the Mwldan complex in Cardigan and the Pwerdy in Llandysul, and then places to visit with a rolling programme of exhibitions such as the Welsh Quilt Centre in Lampeter, the National Woollen Museum in Drefach Felindre, the National Library of Wales, the University and Arts Centre in Aberystwyth.

Aberystwyth MusicFest (18–25 July 2026) brings world-class concerts and recitals to some of Aberystwyth’s most beautiful historic venues — a wonderful excuse for an evening out during your stay.
‘Making Tracks’ at the Vale of Rheidol (25 July – 9 August 2026) is a must for families and railway enthusiasts alike, featuring Pete Waterman’s remarkable 64-foot recreation of Watford Junction at Aberystwyth’s historic narrow-gauge terminus.
Rali Ceredigion (4–6 September 2026) returns to Aberystwyth as an official stage of the FIA European Rally Championship — a spectacular and very noisy contrast to the peace of Cwmtydu.
Craft Festival Wales, Cardigan (11–13 September 2026) fills Cardigan Castle with contemporary jewellery, textiles, wood, paper and metal, alongside workshops, storytelling, music and food.
The Eisteddfod (2026) takes place in north Pembrokeshire, close to Cardigan — the very place where the first eisteddfod was held in 1176.
Gwyl Crime Cymru brings Wales’ only dedicated crime fiction festival to Aberystwyth, with award-winning authors, panel discussions and true crime sessions in both English and Welsh.
Aberystwyth Comedy Festival (first weekend in October) fills venues from the seafront Pier to the Arts Centre with TV comedians, Edinburgh Fringe shows and rising stars.
Other Voices — Cardigan (30 October – 1 November 2025) is a weekend music festival showcasing the best emerging artists from Ireland and Wales, spanning folk, hip-hop, post-punk and everything in between.
Year round, Ceredigion’s agricultural shows, farmers markets, food festivals, and local eisteddfodau give you a genuine taste of Welsh rural life.
National Eisteddfod 2026 (1–8 August 2026) This year’s Eisteddfod takes place in Llandudoch (St Dogmaels), North Pembrokeshire — a week-long celebration of Welsh language and culture with competitions, concerts, theatre, poetry and community events. The 2026 catchment area includes south Ceredigion communities. Visit Wales St Dogmaels is about 20 minutes from Ty Cwch. This is a very special edition, marking the 850th anniversary of the first recorded Eisteddfod in 1176 in Cardigan. Visit Wales
Other Voices — Cardigan (30 October – 1 November 2025) Now in its seventh year, Other Voices Cardigan features headline church sessions hosted by legendary BBC broadcaster Huw Stephens, a buzzing Music Trail throughout the town, and the Clebran strand of thought-provoking conversations. Visit Wales Cardigan is about 20 minutes away.
Fire in the Mountain (Festival: 28–31 May 2026; Campfire in the Mountain: 27 July – 1 August 2026) Held near Aberystwyth, Fire in the Mountain is a folk, old time and bluegrass festival with a small community feel, completely off-grid. Visit Wales Aberystwyth is around 35–40 minutes from Ty Cwch.
Aberystwyth MusicFest (18–25 July 2026) Listed on both Visit Wales and Discover Ceredigion, this festival of concerts, recitals and masterclasses takes place in Aberystwyth’s historic venues, about 35–40 minutes away.
Gwyl Crime Cymru (April, Aberystwyth) The annual Gwyl Crime Cymru Festival takes place in Aberystwyth Visit Wales, about 35–40 minutes from Ty Cwch, featuring award-winning crime writers from Wales and beyond.
Aberystwyth Comedy Festival (first weekend of October) The Aberystwyth Comedy Festival Visit Wales fills venues across town with TV comedians and Edinburgh Fringe acts — again around 35–40 minutes away.
WOW — Wales One World Film Festival (20–28 March 2026) Founded in Aberystwyth and now touring across multiple Welsh towns, WOW presents international cinema alongside Welsh filmmaking, with screenings in independent cinemas and arts centres.
